Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Govt. Polytechnic Ambota was established in 1995 on Ambedkar Jayanti at village - Ambota, Tehsil - Ghanari, Distt.-Una in Himachal Pradesh.
The campus is spread over an area of approximately 10.1 acres. The institute is located near NH-3 near the famous Shiv Bari temple complex and famous Mata Chintpurni temple which is 23 km from this institute. The railway connectivity is also available from Amb, which is 5 km far from this polytechnic.
The Polytechnic runs three-year diploma courses in Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Architectural Assistantship which are approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and Council of Architecture (COA).
This institute is affiliated to the H.P. Takniki Shiksha Board, Dharamshala which conducts semester examinations, the Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT), and Lateral Entry Entrance Test (LEET).
This institute has well-equipped state-of-the-art machinery and infrastructure. This institution has two well-furnished hostels for girls and one hostel for boys students. It also encompasses the captivating residential area with accommodations having all necessary amenities available. The institute has its conveyance for the students that is used for various industrial visits and trainings. It has one well-equipped library with approx. 10690 no. of books, 11 journals, and 03 magazines for all the disciplines. Classrooms are well furnished; labs are equipped with state-of-the-art machinery as well as the latest tools and equipment for practical work.
